Your self-guided journey along the Way of St James and the Le Puy-en-Velay route concludes with a crossing of two distinctive regions, each with its own strong identity, culture and traditions.

Discover Béarn, a land of rivers, rolling green hills and wooded slopes, where the Pyrenees appear on the horizon and traditional farms dot the countryside. Continue into the Basque Country, with its characteristic whitewashed villages and increasingly mountainous landscapes.

Along the way, explore remarkable historic sites, including Sauvelade Abbey, the fortified town of Navarrenx and Saint-Palais. You will also reach Ostabat, the historic meeting point of three major pilgrimage routes before they converge towards the Pyrenees.
