We offer a self-guided itinerary featuring comfortable accommodations and luggage transfers between each stage. While the suggested segments serve as examples, we work with you to create a tailor-made program based on your preferred duration and walking ability.

The "Vézelay Way"—also known as the *Via Lemovicensis*—is punctuated by numerous sanctuaries, including the Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene in Vézelay, the collegiate church in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, and the Cathedral of Saint-Front in Périgueux. Its name stems from the religious significance of the shrine dedicated to Saint Martial in Limoges, of which only the crypt remains today.

This route, one of the *Camino de Santiago* (Way of St. James) paths, has been offered by *Chemins de France* for many years; in fact, we are the only organizers to provide self-guided hiking packages with luggage transfers along this specific trail!

The route follows marked paths through wooded regions and pastures, eventually leading into the vineyards of the Entre-Deux-Mers, the Périgord region, and finally the vast forests of the Landes. Between Vézelay and Ostabat-Asme, the landscape is crisscrossed by numerous rivers and streams. In the Middle Ages, crossing waterways such as the Loire, Vienne, Isle, Dordogne, Garonne, Adour, and the *Gaves* (mountain rivers) was often a perilous undertaking. We provide the best available accommodations along the route, along with luggage transfers from one stage to the next.
